Incidents such as injuries, burns or cardio-respiratory emergencies can occur during a trip at sea. It also happens that crew members or passengers fall ill.
In these cases, the presence of a qualified first aider on board is essential to stabilize the victim’s condition until transfer to a hospital, if necessary. The responder must have the necessary skills to identify the nature and cause of the illness as quickly as possible, correctly administer the appropriate care and treatment and issue an alarm.
