In Canada, all air operators are required to offer their flight attendants training during which they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to intervene in the event of a medical emergency during a flight, unless exempted. Let’s do a check in.
According to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), any airline must offer a for its employees, including flight attendants. In addition, the Flight Attendant Training Standard (TP 12296) indicates that the program must be validated by an accredited body or by Health Canada and approved by the Minister.
Its content must also be in accordance with the equipment present in the aircraft. At the end of the training, the student receives a certification which is valid for 3 years from the date of the end of the course.
Medical emergencies, whether at the level of airline employees or passengers, can occur during flight.
